A great day out for the family and those who want to have a great time.
A bonus, being out in open fields and fresh air, good music, lots of places to grab a bite to eat, adding a touch of karaoke in the mix and you had Wychwood Festival. A roster of artists from the past and present, belted out their hits both old and new. The crowd were receptive, welcoming and there to have a good time. There was an air of ease and expectancy, and a real nice 'togetherness' vibe, as families got comfortable, setting up home from home for the next few days, as tent city sprung to life in the background.
There was a mixed roster of line-ups over the two days from Sister Sledge, Mr Motivator, Texas, Corrine Bailey-Rae, The Hoosiers, Big Country to comedian Shazia Mirza. There was something for everyone.
In between roaming around the festival, enjoying a plate of fish and chips, and being enticed by ice-cream and drinks, I was a happy bunny. The atmosphere was one of community and fun. I was lured to positioning myself at the main stage capturing incredible moments. Moments of nostalgia for me, as I stood there at times, like a child in a toy shop, still mesmerised by these incredible people who were part of my teenage years and beyond, and who there, right in front of me, as I stared up at them, through the lens of my camera, from them Press pit in total appreciation. I was also glad that a good friend Rachel Baldwin had come along to be part of what was in essence, a celebration of legends, pioneers and indie artists.
